This document is the English translation of my "Didactic presentation" of this guide. From a didactic point of view, the FRANMOBE device is part of the Social Action-Oriented Approach and its reference pedagogy, the project pedagogy. It creates an original space between "general French" and the FSP-FUP (French for Specific Purposes - French for University Purposes). The FRANMOBE project was initiated in 2019 by the Educational and Linguistic Cooperation Service of the French Embassy in Brazil and developed with the support of the AUF and in partnership with Campus France Brazil and local and international university partnerships, and is scheduled to end in December 2022. It is about proposing to students of different specialties a didactic device aiming simultaneously at two objectives –to learn French up to a level B 2 and to design their individual project of academic mobility– and two goals – to put together their application file for mobility, and to prepare an argumentative and interactive oral presentation of their project in front of their future interlocutors. The project was carried out in a collaborative way thanks to a team of designers, experimenters and FRANMOBE teacher trainers in different Brazilian and French institutions. I participated in both parts of the project: the research-action part, by ensuring the scientific follow-up of the work of several university research teams on classroom experiments (PRISA-FRANMOBE); the didactic engineering part, by finalizing the design of the reference system and by ensuring the direction of the team of writers of its "Didactic Guide". A first partial version of this guide, containing the first project of the four planned for the whole course, was published in March 2022 with its reference material and its sequences of illustration: it is available under Creative Commons License 4.0 at www.researchgate.net/publication/359440436 and www.christianpuren.com/bibliothèque-de-travail/083.
